Police say goodbye to another fallen colleague

Police Funeral Haka

The Last Police Haka of Matthew Hunt

Constable Matthew Hunt was young and had “everything to live for”.

On June 19 everything was taken from him when he was gunned down on a West Auckland street in New Zealand.

Matthew Hunt was shot multiple times and killed during what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop.

He died doing what he had always wanted to do. Protecting his community from criminals and keeping them safe.

At about the same time a career criminal in America was high on drugs and committing crime. He too was killed but his death caused a tidal wave around the world.
There is something seriously wrong when people ignore those who give their lives to help them but cause anarchy over criminals.
Matthew. You won’t be forgotten and you had the best thank you possible from the people who really matter, your Police family.

“From a very young age Matthew expressed his desire to join the police, it never wavered and he found his forever family with the police – it was a perfect fit for him,”

Like most Police Officers we find a family whose only desire is to help others and make this world a safer place for everyone.

When a Police Officer falls the ripples are felt across the world and the Police family miss a heartbeat.

I don’t think there is a better tribute that could be paid from his colleagues than the Police Hakka.

You will be missed.
